He re-discovered the long-forgotten Lake Creek Settlement which was a settlement in Austin’s Second Colony in Mexico and later in the Republic of Texas. The town of Montgomery Texas was founded in the Lake Creek Settlement in 1837. After years of presenting his historical research regarding the Lake Creek Settlement to historical groups all over Texas, the Handbook of Texas Online has now published an entry about the Lake Creek Settlement written by the foremost authority on the subject.
