Some news / life with Vista

Hello again,

Things sure are interesting with Vista. It seems that the onlineboxing Java applet has major trouble loading when I am using Mozilla Firefox (Vista as platform). However when using Internet Explorer the Onlineboxing Java applet has no trouble loading and it works reasonable fine.

Now the actual downloadable client still has some issues with Vista. Actually the problem may be that the Java version here is version 1.5 and has not been upgraded to latest which is 1.6 so in other words it may be a problem associated with Java and not Vista.

In anycase I did detect some very interesting things when trying to make onlineboxing work for me under Vista. Now with XP using the same excat computer and same excat connection I got better ping by using the downloadable client instead the Java applet. However now with Vista (again same computer and same connection) I get clearly better ping with the Java applet and worse ping with downloadable client.

While it is not perfect and does cause occasionally opponent to get in free hits Java applet with Internet Explorer works reasonable well. For me this means I do not have to leave after all since I got the Java applet to work (with internet explorer. It still refuses to co-operate with Mozilla.)

See you all in the ring!

BTW. Thanks for the PM Mikkel. I am starting to think that the issue has more to do with Java than Vista. Upgrading from 1.5 to 1.6 would propably solve this so I can only hope that the computer center upgrades it. I suppose they got long list of things to do so It propably is not top priority.

blah it was too early to celebrate it is bit better but not really playable. Skipping gives opponent too many free hits. I can not coupe with that lol

See you in 3D.
