Good decision I think, it would have kept being problems and a money loss, it wasn't going anywhere.

Thanks for making that game though and keeping it up for so long even if it was in the red.

OB2D = my favorite fighting game ever. A game that shined by it's simplicity: very simple to play, but difficult to master. One of the only fighting games where you didn't only need skills and reflexes to be among the very best (like say Street Fighter), but also needed to be strong mentally.

You'll stay in the memories OB!

P.s: have you still got the players database? I'd like to know my final record if possible, and maybe details on the big undefeated run I had when things were all going my way. In 2009 or 2008 i'd guess, I started to forget.

Problem was : Linux changed their TCP/IP implementation, look up TCP DELAY ACK.
I cant overcome that so easily since it's hardwired into the OS. Would have to change to the UDP protocol which would be pretty difficult. Also, no one is playing the game anyway so why bother ?
But still, I'll keep game, records etc.

I think simple things like stripping the current champion and giving a chance for the few active fighters to have it. Being able to fight the champ gets interest going.

What an Absolute Heap of Shit. Dont think im the only one to think that this is a load of rubbish and total let down.

Fatny - Crawl Out Of Mikkels Arse Please.

Mikkel, you're a total let down and waste of space. I Knew you'd let me down and the Whole of the OB community. Stop whining about problems and get on with fixing them. You've never let anything knock you down before which you havent got up from. OB2D getting No Cash? WTF? u think 3D will get Cash???? totally understand where ur coming from but u aint gonna get money from it mate, and u know that! its never been about the money!. OB2d was the best thing ever and im making a stand for all those in the OB2D community who agree. U STINK ! Fatny aint bothered cos he's washed up and past it!

To be totally truthful i kno im going over the top etc etc.. and to be fair i understand about not bothering if its too much hard work.. but i believe ppl would come back. and ob2d was also historical.

If you concentrate on ob3d trying to make it big and get really popular and make money.. and Forget about ob2d?.. im telling you now it will be an EPIC fail my friend. Instead of being something that will go down in history being remembered as legendary to maybe only a few but potentially more, and potentially Being much more also.

I agree with Titan. What a way to end..

I agree with Fatny, the game has run it's course, particularly when the game has been free for years and no real money is made on it.

It was fun while it lasted, had some great memories from more than a half dozen years here.

Calm down bro, i'm not, as a matter of fact i don't think 3D will be popular either and everyone knows I much prefer 2D to 3D. There's no market for indy boxing games, it's never going to work well.

But sometimes when you've got too many projects going on and too little time, you've got to drop the ones you have less enthusiasm for. Especially if they've become a burden. In this case, it's OB2D.

wtf dude?

If something is good/great there will allways be people who will love it. Only you need to show it to them. In this day and age there are too much crap in the internet so that it is difficult to understand what is good and whats not. But that does not mean that " There's no market for indy boxing games" ...
Especially now, when people play such crap like minecraft, only because it looks indie and different.

I also think its better if you give up with the boxing games. You did a perfect job with OB2D a few years ago. It got a permanent player-community (always 5-10 players) and it was one of the best games i played on the net. Then you made too much changes, your focus was on the 3D game (what never worked if you are honest...and it never got that 5-10 players community, never). I think if you gave more attention to the players/developer relationship you could be the boxing-game millionaire today (of course gained with advertisement on the free-to-play OB2D site). Only the blood on heavy hits like the long hook = 5-10 more constant players.
But you never heard the voice of the players (and i bet your answer to this posting here is something like "Fuck off" or "Get Lost" or whatever...its just mikkel-like).
I dont want to salute you with bitter feelings because you gave me a really good time a few years ago with a working and active OB2D. Thank you for that mikkel.
I wish you a nice life and success with other things (but stop wasting your time to OB3D...it never worked and it will never work, believe me after all this years).
