Well Greg did more than win some lose some...he did win titles...he did defend...he did beat top HOF players and champions...he did make it a tough night vs A class fighters even if he lost...he just didn't have extremely long runs...

MAB is someone who began like Greg where he was the "thorn"...winning some, losing some...then all of a sudden he took over for a couple of months...Greg never took over, but he was right in the top 1-3 mix...and those top 1-3 were HOF fighters...

I do feel that if Greg is in, so should Jermain Taylor (based on his titles, defenses and run) and possibly sugarray (based on his accomplishment of first Undisputed and Super Champ)

Yeah but Lerry do you really think that's fair. I mean the older fights got in easy. Yeah there were greates but has anyone thought that it was a simplified game back then. There are much more moves and different styles then there was back then. It proves by the simple fact that guys like Labratory and even Sal as good as he was good never really become elite in this era. HTF seems to think his era is unmatched when it really isn't considering the fact that he and Unstop easily used to dominate, now hes lost like his last 10 against Fatny. Nigel in this era also beats a lot of HOF showing he's elite. People are the real deal, and it seems too hard to get in.

U cant relive the past Profesor, this is the present, rules have changed things are different but i do agree that JT should have been in. This is OB 2007 not OB 2002....do you think it would be fair to us, who have worked hard to get in, to let some other people in easier than we had it...dont think so but Nigel will be in if the TITLES come back around, either him or me would take them...I had barriers in my way to get to the HOF(HTF) so im trying to be the barrier for Nigel, make him work 110% nothing comes easy anymore...

I can say that 95% of the HOFERS can hang with this era easy. I lost to fatny just like every else my last 10 sure I wasnt active as I was during my run on top. I left vacated and the titles changed hands a few times before fatny got them and held them. I came back and of course wasnt as good as I was.

StreetBully and Greg are the only ones I would question. I know for a fact every other HOFer could hang and be elite in this era.

More moves same styles doesnt matter.

It all comes down to whos on top dominating.

And another thing to add lets remember we had all of these elites playing in one era at one point or another.

I agree...Larry has proven that as long as you have the basic mental and physical skills down, you can be dominant in any era as long as you keep active...

when we see HOFers like Mike Tyson, HTF and Labratory pop up every once in a while...then get beaten by non elites...it is not that they were not great...it is that things HAVE changed and they have not played enough to get used to it...

things have changed in the game that today's fighters have learned to utilize and past greats have not on a daily basis...

I guarantee you, if Sal, MAB, Sugarray, Mike Tyson, Labratory, Greg, Ashton were ALL still playing "consistently" today...getting used to the new changes....the top 10 would look a lot different...

that by no means says that we don't have very good players...we do...however, to say that past greats wouldn't hang in this era is absurd to me...

one mentioned that the game was simpler back then...well simpler doesn't necessarily mean less skill...back then we couldn't depend on a wide left hook to KO our opponent...back then we couldn't depend on wiggling to defend...back then we couldn't walk and duck at the same time...back then, leaning was a bit different....back then fighters were more skilled with output and combinations...today we can take more advantage of defensive tactics...

one isn't better or worse....just different....

That is too quick and we don't have that many regulars. Once a year is my opinion with it being possible that 0, 1 or up to 3 make it in each year (if they deserve it).

A month is not enough time to determine who deserves it. A year gives time for improvements and domination.

Once month would ruin it, too amny people would get in and HOF wouldnt be elite no more. I still think this http://www.onlineboxing.net/jforum/posts/list/1453.page may work. Something else to aim for.

So you're saying to be a HOF'er, you have to dominate for a YEAR?! I think that's a bit too long and i'm almost 100% sure the Fatny didn't dominate that long.

no, my point was not about dominating for a year....I feel an annual HOF induction works best...you may only dominate for 2 months out of that 12 month period...and then possibly be considered a lock for the next induction...but I am saying a year gives time to see who has stood out over the past year and allow for deserving candidates whether you dominated for a month or 6 months...a full year gives the "board" a years worth to look back on
